Obituary Mr F. Tomlinson
A well known New Zealand quantity surveyor. Mr Frank Tomlinson, died in Christchurch recently. Mr Tomlinson was the founder and first president of the Quantity Surveyors’ Institute in 1943. He was in private practice in Wellington and Christchurch from 1944 to 1975. In the 1930 s he had worked on construction projects in the United States and
Britain, and later worked for Government departments in New Zealand. For several years, he was a New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association council member. He was a charter member of the Christchurch Lions Club. In his early years, he represented Canterbury at cricket; later, he was a Canterbury bowls representative.
