Social care conference
Salvation Army social workers are in Christchurch for a three-day conference on social care which begins today. Delegates are from the 10 Salvation Army social centres in the South Island. These . centres provide nightly accommodation for up to 300 people. "Such conferences are held annually and provide an opportunity to review present activity and look at future trends in our care of needy people," said the conference organiser. Major Winsome Howie. - There will be speakers from the Canterbury Employers' Association and the Health Department.
