Weedkiller on oval
Traces of a sign sprayed on Denton Oval with weedkiller by anti-tour protesters have begun to appear. The Paparua County Clerk, Mr B. L. Mooar. said yesterday that the first sign of what appeared to be spray damage had only just appeared, 10 days after the council had been told of the attack. No particular pattern had emerged and there seemed to be little damage to the ground, which was very muddy. At this stage no special step was being taken to increase security at the ground, he said.
