Talks on rubbish dispute
' Negotiations on the Waimairi County rubbish dispute resumed yeterday and will continue today, said the secretary of the Canterbury sub-branch of the Labourers’ Union. Mr R. A. Lowe, yesterday. In talks involving the secretary of the Federation of Labour. Mr K. G. Douglas, last week, the parties agreed that the unions should submit written proposals on manning levels and that they should then negotiate with the county council on them while the contractor, Mogal Bin Services, temporarily withdrew.
No rubbish is being collected, but the council's dump is .open.
