House object of ‘vendetta’
A couple at Hornby have had their unfinished new house in Riccarton attacked by a spray-paint vandal for the third time in two months. "It has happened to us three times and now I think it is a personal thing aimed at us,” said the owner of the house,, Mr Ceril Kenworthy, yesterday. On Saturday night someone spray-painted the aluminimu’m window frames. "They did not waste their paint on the window this time,” said Mr Kenworthy. "They just went round and sprayed the frames both inside and out. "It is hard to tell at the moment, but the damage could amount to $4000.”
. Mr Kenworthy, who is 50, and has five children, started building the house in Parr Place, Riccarton, two months ago.
The first attack occurred after the garage had been finished. Paint was sprayed over its floor and walls, but this paint was not permanent. '
The police were investigating the case yesterday, and they thought the attacks were being made by someone with a "personal vendetta". against Mr Kenworthy.
