Sevens elimination
Canterbury will be represented at the national final’ of the provincial seven-a-side rugby tournament, to be played at Palmerston-North on October 3. Canterbury had no difficulty winning the central South Island zone elimination at Lancaster Park yesterday. The only other union present was Mid-Canter-bury, which, like Canterbury, had two teams. The third union in the zone, South Canterbury, withdrew last -week.. The winner was Canterbury B. which beat the A team on the toss of a. coin, after they had. „ drawn, 10-iO, in. their round-robin 'match. There was very heavy
rain at the time and as there was nothing at stake both sides agreed to toss for the decision.
