No 50c doubles
Sir,—The dropping of the 50c double does not concern me for myself. However, I have two people, superannuitants, dear to me, who receive a great deal of joy from the placing of a 50c double on race day and then following the individual races. Others I know can only afford the 50c double. Those who made this decision made it with their pockets full of dollars, and a totally selfish attitude. What do they intend to do with the massive profits derived from larger bets? May I suggest they swap their wage with that of a superannuitant to see how many $1 plus bets they are able to place on the T.A.B. after they have provided for themselves. — Yours, etc., ' T. MALLOY.
