Kampuchean coalition soon

NZPA Singapore A coalition government, linking three main Kampuchean resistance groups fighting Soviet-backed Vietnamese forces in their country, is expected to be announced soon in Sinagapore or in Thailand, according to the Singapore Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign Affairs (Mr Sinnathamby Rajaratnam). There were still some obstacles to complete agreement among the groups, but he described them as “a matter of tactics.” Mr Rajaratnam named the

three groups as the Communist Khmer Rouge, the nonCommunist Kampuchean People’s National Liberation Front and a movement led by the former Kampuchean Head of State, Prince Norodom Sihanouk. He made it clear that the main obstacle to the setting up of a Kampuchean coalition government came from the K.P.N.L.F. leader, Son Sann, who seemed to be holding out to extract the most. favourable conditions, including the building up of his forces to the same level as the Khmer Rouge.
