New Brighton runs in four tries
New Brighton scored four tries in beating Hornby, 29-3, while Merivale-Papanui and suburbs drew, 7-7. in the final round of night rugby at Denton Oval last evening. The New Brighton team was probably a little flattered bv its half-time lead of 10-3 even though the backs ran in two grand tries. Merivale-Papanui was a little unlucky not to win the early match having enjoyed almost complete domination’in the final quarter against Suburbs. It had a wealth of possession, but movements were either stopped by deadly tackles, handling and passing mistakes, or an
unfortunate tendency for backs to cut back inside. . Points in “The Press” competiton. were — Suburbs 17 <ll sportsmanship, 6 constructive play), Merivale-Papanui 1?
