Lottery Board allocations

•?A Wellington The Lottery Board has allocated a total of $13,345,000 to its various distribution agencies, said the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Highet). Allocations include SI.BM to the Welfare services Dis-

tribution Committee, SI.2M to the Welfare of Aged Persons Distribution Committee, and $350,000 apiece to the Medical Research and Scientific Research Distribution Committees.

The New Zealand Film Commission has been allocated $650,000 for film production. Mr Highet said that the board was impressed by the commission’s work to date, and the success of New Zealand films. A total of $6.37M has been allocated to the General Purposes Distribution Committee, which funds the Local Authorities Community Facilities Fund, the Community Development fund, the Cultural Facilities Scheme, and such organisations as the Water Safety Council, the Council for Recreation and Sport, and the Mountain Safety Council.
