N.Z. cyclist’s victory

NZPA London A New Zealand cyclist, Eric McKenzie, won the annual Jabbeke read cycling race in Belgium last weekend. McKenzie, who has been based in Ghent, Belgium, for the last ten months, took the race from a field of eighty starters.

The win in the five star race will mean he will now take part in the end-of-year final, which will probably be held in August. So far this season, McKenzie has gained two fifth places. He will take part in the world cycling championships which are being held in Czechoslovakia in August.
