Well known owner dead

PA Auckland Mr M. B. (Max) Anderson, for many years widely known in racing and the hotel trade, died in Auckland on Wednesday.

Two of the best horses Mr Anderson raced were Clipjoint and Ginza, both in partnership with Mr Bob Wynyard, of Auckland. He also did well with Sonya’s Pride.

For several years Mr An-] derson was licensee of the' Palace Hotel in Rotorua. He was afterwards proprietor of the City Club Hotel and the New Criterion Hotel in Auckland.

In facing, which he followed enthusiastically, and as a hotel manager Mr An-| derson made a great many; friends, both in New Zealand and Australia. He was aged, 73,
