Rubbish collections in Paparua and Waimairi Counties are back to normal after work-to-rule by labourers and drivers..
Staff oh the Paparua rounds returned to normal work last Friday when the council agreed to examine the present system and increase manning levels in the meantime. Staff at Waimairi returned to normal work yesterday after the Waimairi council
agreed to ' investigate the work loads. The workers had complained that, they were expected to do too much in a day. ' . The organiser of the Canterbury branch of the Labourers’ Union. Mr G. R. Lomax, said ‘that the Waimairi investigation would take about a month, after which the unions and the council would negotiate a final ..settlement.
