Meals on wheels up
PA Wellington Meals, on wheels charges will rise by 5c to 75c a meal and voluntary organisations whose members are involved in deliveries will receive lie rather than 10c a meal from tomorrow, said the Minister of Health (Mr Gair) yesterday. Last year Cabinet agreed on a formula for adjusting annually the charges for
meals on wheels and the allowance to voluntary organisations whose members help in the delivery of meals, Mr Gair said. The formula for setting the charges was based on half the "cost of preparing a meal. “The increase in revenue for hospital boards arising from the increased charges announced will total about $59,000,” he said.
