Small (Hawke’s Bay), 5-4. Then the more highly favoured North Island senior team was downed, 8-6, by the South to end the tournament. Improvement in play augers well for the South Island championships to be held at Ryans Road, Christchurch, from April 10 to 12. Twelve teams will be competing.
