Salvation Army holds congress
PA Wellington More than 2500 members of the Salvation Army have spend the week-end in Wellington at their biannual congress. The public relations officer, Captain Graeme Smith, said the rally with visitors from as far away as Fiji was a time of faith sharing, Christian joy, and praiseMembers of the public attended several of the meetings, as well as watching the open-air marches, a musical based on the Salvation Army’s founder, General William Booth, and a music festival.
Leading the congress is the army’s senior administrative officer, Commissioner Stanley Cottrill, who is based in London.
