More gas for Beach

PA Adelaide Significant gas indications have been found'in the Wallaby Creek No. 1 wildcat well near Port Campbell, in the Otway Basin of Western Victoria, Beach Petroleum announced. The gas shows came after the well intersected the upper cretaceous waarre formation at 1513 metres, Beach said.

The well is ori a separate structure from the North Paaratte and Grumby fields and is some skm southwest of North Paaratte number one. Beach said the extent of the waarre sand and the gas shows will be determined by continued drilling, assess'ment of logs, and a series of repeat formation tests to be conducted after the well has been drilled to total depth.
