Wool barely steady
PA Wellington The Wool Board bid on 81 per cent of the catalogue and bought 47 per cent at the Wellington wool sale yesterday. The catalogue of 18,806 bales included 441 bales offered by separation from Auckland. The offering was 22 per cent ewe fleece, 30 per cent lambs’ wool,: 38 per cent autumn' second-shear, and 10 per cent oddments'. ■, Compared with the Napier sale on March 20, the mar- :
ket for fleece and lambs’ wool was generally unchanged, but the better autumn second-shear wool was inclined in buyers’ favour. The main buyers, apart from the Wool Board, were the Continent and Eastern Europe, with support from New Zealand mills.
