Plumbing guarantee
Plumbing contractors in New Zealand will this year implement a scheme to protect the public from faulty workmanship.
The scheme will involve a tightening of the internal discipline and standards of members of the New Zealand Society of Master Plumbers and Gasfitters. It will also involve an insurance scheme whereby a guarantee of up to $lO,OOO, with a further $5OOO in some circumstances, will be provided against faulty workmanship on domestic, and some commercial, installations.
The society's executive council will shortly begin a feasibility study, hoping to begin the scheme during 1981.
