North too good
The North Island teams proved too strong for South Island teams on the opening day of the Savile Cup polo tournament at Blenheim yesterday. In wet conditions, the northern sides showed too many skills for their opposition. However, the northern sides were playing the wea-
ker southern teams, and a truer picture might be gained today when they are opposed by -the stronger South Island combinations. First-day results were: Hawke’s Bay 9, Blenheim A 2; Wairarapa 5, Arnuri B 1; Rangitikei 15, Blenheim B 0; Wanstead 11, Geraldine 0.
