Working women

Sir,—That the Working Women's Charter has been promoted by a small band of radical feminists was amply demonstrated last year in Dunedin at a public meeting called by the feminists to support the charter. Some 400 people turned up who opposed the charter and formed a "Working Women’s Council Inc.,‘ to establish a pro-family pro-life position for all women. The 20 or so feminists supporting the charter left the meeting in dismay. The Working Women’s Council Inc., was formed at this meeting with a massive amount of grassroots public support which the radical feminists have never enjoyed. One correspondent sug gests that this name has been “stolen. 4 Stealing relates to items which an owner is legally entitled to reclaim. The feminists have no such legal entitlement, however, despite their taking every opportunity to promote their pro-abortion, anti-family, Working Women’s Charter. Yours, etc.,
