Liquor law changes
PA Wellington New provisions of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act, 1980, will come into force on April 1. The new provisions would replace the restaurant, cabaret, theatre, and caterers’ licences with a comprehensive "food and entertainment licence” and the general ancillary licence with a “club licence,” said the Minister of Justice (Mr McLay). The authority to grant wholesale and ship licences would be transferred to the Licensing Control Commission and various changes could be made to the familyloungebar permit and other permits. New regulations defining the machinery details of the changes had been approved and would also come into force on April 1
