P.M. and deputy to visit Japan

PA Wellington The Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) and the Deputy Prime Minister (Mr MacIntyre) will both attend trade talks in Japan early in April on New Zealand’s agriculture exports. This was announced by Mr Muldoon yesterday. Mr Maclntyre, he said would lead a horticultural mission to Japan on April 8. Mr Muldoon wih arrive in Japan on April 15 and stay until April 21.

He said his programme would include talks in Tokyo as well as visits to the industrial centre of Nagoya and the Ise peninsula.

“The question of access tc the Japanese market foi New Zealand’s agricultural exports will be a discussion topic of special interest, during my talks in Tokyo,” Mi Muldoon said. “For that reason, Mr MacIntyre, who . will precede me to Japan as leader of < horticultural mission will join me for the period of my visit.” Mr Muldoon said that he had also had an invitation tc travel to the Republic of Korea after his visit tc Japan, and that he expectec to be able to announce plan; for this visit as soon as discussions on the programme details were completed.
