Soccer stalemate

Christchurch Mogal United seem to be no further advanced in their plans for a top overseas player for part of the 1981 Rothmans Soccer League. The United manager (Mr Terry Conley) said yesterday that the situation had . not changed in the last few days, and there were “no developments.” Indeed, the chances of a prominent player appearing for United appear fairly

slim. It is not possible for a player to be. released until May 10, according to MrConley, and by that stage the player’s impact on the league could depend on his team’s position in the points table. By then, the league would have reached about the half-way mark. “Unless something dramatic develops,. I can’t’ see anything happening,” said Mr Conley.
