PA Wellington The incorrect labelling of a stamp prepared specially for the International Year of 1 Disabled Persons has upset ’ the disabled. The 25c stamp, printed by 1 the Post Office )o mark the year, has been printed “for Disabled persons” instead of “of Disabled Persons.” The executive officer of the national committee ol 1.V.D.P., Mr K. Munro, said that he had received complaints from may disabled people about the wording.

“The point of this year is not to treat disabled people in a patronising way, but rather to show that disabled people are part of New Zealand society,” Mr Munro said yesterday. "They are entitled to participate fully in the community, and in the celebration of a year designated for them.” He said that the mistake j seemed to have occurred be- ■ cause the Post Office did not; show the draft copy to! executive members of the ( national committee.
