Tekere campaign
The Zimbabwean Manpower Minister (Mr Edgar Tekere) has renewed a campaign against whites in the Civil service, calling them “the evil minds of yesterday;” He said .on the Staterun television that the Government would take drastic measures against whites who resisted “reorientation” and upheld the values of “the rotten yesterday.” He did not elaborate. The comments, echoing similar ones before his recent trial for murder, showed that Mr Tekere intended to maintain his campaign against some white Civil servants. — Salisbury
