Motoring Big fields for Pukekohe
New Zealand's premier motor race, the Aurora AFX Grand Prix, which will be held on January 10, will be supported by the largest programme of races in the 28-year history of the event.
Sixteen races will be held, five more than the last Grand , Prix meeting, run over seven hours , and a half on the Pukekohe 2.8 km circuit. The Aurora AFX New Zealand Grand Prix, run over two heats, has at-
tracted a strong entry and will be round two of the 1981 Aurora AFX International Series. Talented driver-engineer. Adrian Reynard will lead the overseas contingent. A European F2OOO Series winner, Reynard, aged 29, will drive the New ZeaI a n d-built Sleepyhead Cuda 5. Also from Britain will be an ex-patriate kiwi, Rob Wilson, who will start as an odds-on favourite with a new Nashua-March SOA which will be flown out from Britain this week. Wilson, also aged 29, was a prominent Formula Ford driver here before moving to Britain three years ago. His March is works entered, and is being prepared by factorymechanics. In other fields, a chief attraction- will be the •hellsport Saloon Car Championship two heat round in which a battle royal has developed between Reg Cook in the Datsun Sunny Coupe and Bryce Platt’s Ford Escort. Other championship races which will be held at Pukekohe are for Motorcraft Formula Ford. Formula Vee, Ford Escort Sport and Wynn's Mini Seven Series.
