The homestead is sound but needs some redecoration. It is surrounded by native bush, fruit trees, walnut and chesnut trees. The auctioneer was Mr Tim Templeton, of Matson and Allan Real Estate. A 203.5 ha fattening and cropping unit near Darfield sold for $480,000, nearly double its 1979 Government Valuation. The unit, which has been fanned by the Clinton family for three generations, fronts onto Essendon Road, four miles from Darfield. Besides the usual fann buildings, the property includes a three bedroont roughcast bungalow with an attached sleepout. The auctioneer was Mr C. McAuley, of the Fanners’. Christchurch. About 60 people attended the auction and there were five bidders.
On Tuesday, a 10-year-old concrete block townhouse at 1 Raekura Place, Redcliffs, was passed in at $35,000.
The 1979 Government Valuation is $33,000, and the unit is now up for private sale for $38,000. It has two bedrooms, a decramastic roof and is adjoined to one other unit, but has a separate title.
The auctioneer was Mr G. Woodley, of Binns, Barber and Keenan Real Estate.
