Marginal lands inquiry
Sir, — The commission’s finding on the marginal lands inquiry must be accepted by all reasonable people. Its criticism of Mr White for publicly making accusations against two Cabinet Ministers which the Commission found were groundless is fair comment. Any suggestion of these accusations • resembling the police “speak up” campaign is arrant nonsense. The inquiry has shown just how much political life comes between politicians and their families. Four months of
Parliamentary activity has. been tainted with groundless accusations and smear tactics-to the point of boredom. The country’s problems are too important for valuable Parliamentary time to be wasted on such activities and one must hope that for the remainder of the session only matters of real importance will receive attention. — Yours, etc.,
J. F. GARVEY. November 23, 1980.
