Health of N.Z. woman worry
. NZPA correspondent'-;. Hong Kong The health of an Auckland woman, Andrea Resetar who is held in the Chiangmai jail in northern Thailand, is causing concern to visitors. Resetar, aged 26, was arrested almost a year ago in the Thai city and charged with possession of heroin as was a companion, Matthew Cosio, also of Auckland! Mr Cosio was recently discharged from the prison off the ground of ill-health, a move which provoked a political scandal embracing local justice officials and the Minister of the Interior,’ as director of public prosecutions. Resetar is regularly visited 1
by officials from the New Zealand Embassy in Bangkok. | While they decline to comment publicly on her condition it is apparent they are worried about the prospects of. a rapid deterioration in her health. A fresh trial date of November 6 has been set for her next appearance in the local court and officials hope that the charges against her may be heard then. But they {say .it cannot be assumed that a final determination of her case will be made then. She has changed her lawyer in recent weeks. It is believed that her mother plans to visit Chiangmai to attend the next court appearance. - '
