Webb in Otago squad
The former New Zealand test fast bowler, Murray Webb, is one of three former national representatives in line for a return to first class cricket with Otago this season. Webb (now 33), along with Barry Milbum and Keith Campbell, was included in an Otago representative practice squad of 18 announced at the week-end. Both Webb and Milbum have played no first-class
cricket since the 1973-74 season. Campbell represented Otago in the 1978-79 season, but did not even play club cricket last season.
Webb, a genuinely fast bowler who never realised his exceptional promise, made a tremendous impact when he burst on to the cricket scene in.the 1969-70 season. In his. four Plunket Shield games he took 25 wickets and added to a growing reputation with fig-
ures of six for 114 against Australia,
During his career Webb played three tests — the last against Australia in 1974 — end in air first-class matches took 134 wickets at 23.30. Miiburn, who played all three tests against the West Indies in the 1968-69 season, made 145 first-class dismissals behind the stumps. He will be 37 next month.
