Gore runners trial well
Special correspondent Dunedin Catastrophe, which is likely to resume racing at Gore on Monday, won the main heat the Wingatui barrier trials yesterday. The trials were held five metres out on a firm course proper. Catastrophe was ridden back in the field, then came through to lead at the 150 m. He held on by a neck from the fast-finishing Mellseur, which dropped out to the rear early with Taieri Special. Mell-seur is in top order for the Gore Cup on Monday.
