The economy
Sir, — Total vigilance is necessary to retain our few remaining freedoms. By adroit political manipulation, our personal rights and entitlements are being whittled away. It would appear that once politicians, irrespective of label, haying had a taste of what the honey pot contains become “party profssionals,” instead of representatives of the people. The well-being of a political
machine becomes their main objective, instead of the economic objective of consumers’ satisfaction and directing economic stability. The enormous power of conglomerates must be fought by legislation upholding and delivering the dignity of the individual. In the real economic sense, it is later than we think. — Yours, etc., P. M. CURRIE. October 16, 1980.
