Iraq visit in doubt
PA Wellington • The hopes of a visit to Bagdad next week by the Minister of Overseas' Trade (Mr Taiboys), are receding as the Gulf conflict intensifies. Mr Taiboys said yesterday that the decision whether to visit Iraq was “very difficult,” and the Government was in the process of reviewing the
whole programme. Mr Taiboys is due in Bagdad on, October 4, to visit a trade fair and sign an agreement for the development of bilateral trade between New Zealand and Iraq. New Zealand exhibits bound for the trade fair had been held up irr nerghbouring Kuwait ' while the war between Iraq and Iran deepened, he said.
