'Decision deficient’

• Greymouth reporter ’ The Grey County Council approved some time ago an application by Kanieri Gold Dredging, Ltd, to dredge on

the Grey River near Ngahere, subject to certain conditions being met. . The company and Kopara Sawmilling Company, Ltd, both objected to aspects of the conditions.

The council has now told the Westland' Catchment Board that the registrar of the Planning Tribunal had indicated that the council’s decision on the proposals was deficient in that no reason was given with the pro-' nouncement. The matter would now revert to consid-: eration of the evidence and a fresh decision given in conformity with the requirements. -

The council will wait until further additional information is forthcoming from the Planning Tribunal before proceeding.
