Shades bar prices

Not all beer sold in the proposed Shades Tavern in Christchurch will be sold at public-bar prices. A report in “The Press” on Saturday said -that the Canterbury Licensing Committee had granted the tavern an exemption from the usual requirement to provide a public bar on the condition that liquor was sold in the tavern at public-bar prices. " Judge Paterson said yesterday that the condition did not apply to all the bars in the tavern, just one. The tavern will have a bar and a bottle store on the ground floor, a restaurant and two bars on the first floor, and part of the restaurant on the mezzanine floor.
