Intruder still sought
Christchurch detectives are still searching for a man who entered a St Albans house early on Saturday morning, threatened a woman with a knife, and tried to stab her husband. The police said that the man sought was in his twenties, about 170 cm (sft 7in), of slight build, with a hooded nose and a pale complexion. He had dark curly hair and thin hands. The man went into a bedroom of the Severn Street house and threatened the woman, telling her not to wake her husband. The intruder had his hand on her leg.. The woman . woke ' her husband, and the intruder lunged at- him with the knife, gashing his hand.. After a struggle, the intruder • fled from, the house with the man and a neighbour in pursuit, but he got-away..
