The economy
Sir, — The new international economic order (as queried by A. J. Ford September 17) is a concept inspired by a small group of elite, wealthy individuals and combines, it is backed and supported fully by the United Nations. Its aims are the international application of that notorious communist ideal of “From each according to his ability to each according to his need.” The new international economic order enables countries such as New Zealand to give away all surplus production above a level that would
enable us to maintain a standard of living equal to that of most Third World countries. It enables the United Nations and, more important, those really behind the United Nations to have full control over the world’s total production and the distribution of that production. The ramifications of this horrendous ideal, now fast becoming a reality, will never be fully shown as they would be far too horrific to gain the support of most freedom-loving individuals. — Yours, etc., I. R. WRIGHT. ■ September 17, 1980.
Sir, — Mr A. J. Ford, (September 17) be assured, the new international economic order is world government. The United Nations, the Communist bloc, the international bankers and those on the international dole lines support it. Its nature is being deliberately obscured where necessary and the glib guardians of our liberty are falling for it. The individual citizen seeing his own liberty and the independence of his country being passed into the hands of a world totalitarian State would say “no”. The three initial major proposals are (1) Centralised world monetary system. (2) Direct transfer of resources and expertise from developed to undeveloped countries. (3) International commodity boards controlling raw materials. It will be the ultimate in transferance of power from the individual to the State. The recent power price rises, the human rights commission and the current restructuring mania are just
the beginning. 1984 is coming unless enough individuals stand up and act. — Yours, etc., MILES JASON, September 18, 1980.
