Buller Carbon decision awaited
Parliamentary reporter The Government has yet to decide on an activated carbon industry in the Buller district.
The member of Parliament for the. West Coast, (Mr T.- K. Burke), asked when an announcement would be made. The Under-Secretary for Trade and Industry, (Mr Allen) replied that the cabinet economic committee had yet to receive an officials’ report on the matter. Asked whether New Zealand was still supplying coal to a pilot activated carbon plant in Japan, Mr Allen said he did not know.
