Sir, — Over a period I have read and understood, albeit with some difficulty, Mr G. D. Stanley’s views on how to solve the ills of New Zealand, or how to remedy the implied mismanagement of the city by the elected council. As Mr Stanley is one of four Labour candidates for the North Ward of Christchurch, I would be very interested in knowing how Mr Stanley’s party would tackle the problem of rubbish dumping, pollution,.§nd
recycling whilst at the same time managing to keep residents of proposed rubbish collection or recycling sites happy, bearing in mind recent events pertaining . to this problem. It may well cost people “money to dump” but what is- the immediate alternative? Can Mr Stanley now suggest a scheme of rubbish, disposal that would not cost the ratepayer money or does he perhaps envisage suitable sorting and recycling plants being erected and run by gnomes in the night —all at no substantial cost to the citizens of Christchurch. — Ydurs, etc.’
