The Singapore Government has announced it will introduce new offshore financial activities in the next few years as part of a drive to make the island an international fund managment centre.. The Monetary Authority of Singapore, which functions as the State central bank, said in its latest report the new measures would include the listing of international companies in the Singapore Stock Exchange and encouraging international financial institutions to undertake fund management. The Government also plans to set up financial institutions that could provide multi-national corporations with adequate insurance facilities.'— Singapore.
