Librarian to decide
PA Wellington Otaki’s librarian will decide if a controversial book “Local‘Government” will be placed on the town’s library shelves, the Borough Council had agreed. The Mayor (Mr Murray Scott) told a council meeting that the librarian (Mrs N.
Papps) should make the final decision about the purchase of “Local Government,” by Dave Boswell. Mr Scott, who initially expressed opposition to the book’s availability, said he did not wish to dictate to the . librarian what she should, or should not buy, for the library.
