Straight-set, victories
NZPA New York Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe, shbwing no ill effects from < their recent; leg injuries, posted straight-set victories yesterday ini the opening round of the U.S. Open tennis championships. Borg, the top-seeded Swede who has won Wimbledon in each of the last five years but has never
captured the American title, breezed past Guillermo Aubone, of Argentina, 6-1, 6-4, 6-1. ' McEnroe, the 21-year-old left-hander who won the open last year and took Borg to five sets in their classic Wimbledon final in July, was extended just a bit, more in beating Christophe Roger-Vasselin, of France, 6-3, 6-4, 6-1.
