Waikato impressive
PA Gisborne Waikato gave an impressive display of wet weather rugby at Gisborne yesterday, running in three tries in the rain to beat Poverty Bay, 27-9, in a B division national championship rugby match. This was its fourth win in the championship and it must now be looking the
strongest side in the North Island B division. Scores — Waikato: Brian Morrisey, Gary Major (2) tries, John Boe kicked two drop goals and Doug Phillips three conversions and a penalty goal. Poverty Bay: Gary Muir two penalty goals, Wilson Isaac a dropped, goal.
