Noise test

The Honda' CB2SORS is efficiently silenced. In the pass-by test conducted by the Ministry of Transport noise control officer, Mr Bob Wright, the -highest rating reached in the six runs was 80.5dbA. This was very comfortably inside the legal maximum of 86db A. . One unusual aspect of the test was that the three runs at maximum acceleration made with a tail wind provided a iouder noise that the three runs made into the wind. This is not unusual with a single-cylinder machine which has a single exhaust system on one side. However, the Honda has a twin exhaust system so the higher noise has to be attributed to the higher speed achieved with the following wind. The three readings taken into the head wind were: 78.5, 79.5, and 79.5dbA. The readings taken with a following wind were: 89.5, 80, and 80.5dbA.
