31 killed
NZPA Jakarta Thirty-one passengers and crew members were killed in a plane crash yesterday in the district of Kerawang, about 80 kilometres east of Jakarta, said a spokesman for the domestic airlines, Bouraq. The spokesman said the ill-fated aircraft Vickers Viscount crashed while on the way back from Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan.
The cause of the accident was still unknown. A search and rescue team has been sent to the site. The spokesman was unable to confirm whether any foreigners were on board.
