New political science head appointed
The political science department . at the University of Canterbury will have a new head soon although the resigning professor will remain a member of tiie staff and will retain his chair. Mr R. N. Kennaway, aged 45, has been appointed the new head, from December 1 to replace Professor W. K. Jackson, whose resignation will take effect from that date. Mr Kennaway, a senior lecturer, has been a member of the university staff for 15 years, several times acting

In the English department. Dr D. C. Gunby has been appointed to a chair. Dr Gunby is now a reader in the department. He holds a doctorate in philosophy from Cambridge.
