Julian wins cycling
PA Palmerston North Thaddeus Julian, aged 17,1 of Christchurch, won the 40 kilometre New Zealand secondary school cycling championship event at the Manfield autocourse yesterday ■ morning, but missed selec- ’ tion in the New Zealand) team because of his age. The ’
team selection is governed by an age limit of under 17. Julian romped away with the event, run over 40km with sprints every second lap. Julian scored 27 points and won by a long way from Andrew Janies (Neb son), who had 10 points. One point further back was Del Woodford (Dunedin).
