Blaze in chimney
Firemen were called to put out.-a spectacular chimney fire at the factory of New Zealand Fibreglass, Ltd, in Shands Road Hornby, last evening. The Fire Service received several . alarm calls ■ about 7.20 pm., as flames roared high above the top of the tall smokestack. Firemen were able to put out the blaze, the cause of which is not known,-before it co.uld spread into the building and its. highly flammable contents... .
