Changes to timetable?
Several changes to New Zealand Railway Road Services timetables on. the West Coast and North Canterbury, are proposed in applications being heard by the No. 8 Transport Licensing Authority (Cr D. L. . Hogan) at Greymouth, Westport and Christchurch. Mr Hogan: sat' in Greymouth yesterday,'will be in Westport today, and will hold a sitting- in Christchurch, on August 22 after which he will give his decisions.

Hokitika - Greymouth, Ngahere - Greymouth, Westport - Christchurch, and Christchurch - Hanmer - Waiau sections. v It. is proposed to increase the frequency of the 9 a.m. Monday - Wednesday - Friday service from Westport to Christchurch to a Monday' to Friday. The present 8.15 a.m. Christchurch - Westport service on Monday Wednesday - Friday will be rescheduled to leave at 10.40 a.m. and -will also operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays./ ! Connections will be maintained to and' from Hanmer each day, .with connections between Greymouth and ; Reef ton. • 1 ? The department is proposing to withdraw the 7.45 a.m. Christchurch. .- .Waiau arid 1:30 p.mi - -Waiau _ Christchurch service which run. from. Monday to Satur-i
day, and to replace them by connecting services between Culverden and Waiau from the Christchurch - Hanmer I services on Monday to Fri'day only. The Saturday services leaving Christchurch at 8.15 a.m. and Hanmer at 1.15 p.m. will be withdrawn, if the application is granted. The, full list of changes would produce a saving of $44,500 a year,- it was submitted after 1, spending $17,500 more, ? on increasing l the frequency, of the Westport - Christchurch services. Mr R V.
